The 1980s Strikes Back

Keith is a fricking traitor.
Okay, so, that might be a little harsh. Just kidding! It's totally super accurate.
For those of you who are a little confused at this point, I'm talking about Voltron. More specifically, events spanning the third season of the hit Netflix Original series. In the third season, Keith took over as the Paladin of the black lion and officially became the black sheep instead.
I'm sure you haven't heard it before or anything like that, but it must be acknowledged that Keith shouldn't have stolen Shiro's role. I mean, it's not like Shiro was missing and presumed dead, nor was Keith already the black Paladin anyway in the original series. Nope, none of that happened.
For those who are mad at Keith, they are absolutely right. Let's take a look at his rise to being the black Paladin of Voltron.
First, Keith refused to go anywhere near the black lion. Even though he was told repeatedly by Shiro in the preceding seasons that if anything ever happened to Shiro he wanted Keith to take over as the black Paladin, Keith was highly unwilling to accept the role, in denial that one of his best friends was gone. Clearly, he wanted it all for himself!
Next, we have to acknowledge how once he finally did become the black Paladin, he did so very reluctantly. Any Voltron fan will tell you that you can't just become a Paladin on a whim. The lion you choose has to choose you too, and there must be a very strong bond between lion and Paladin. If there isn't, then the lion will refuse to activate. You can sit in that pilot seat all you like, but if the lion doesn't deem you worthy, or rather, compatible, it's just not going to work out for you. That said, I guess we have to count the black lion as a traitor too because when Keith finally took a seat in the cockpit of the black lion, it perked right up and came to life, despite being dormant since the disappearance of its original Paladin.
However, it took the other Paladin's quite some time to convince Keith to actually give it a try. Keith refused to abandon the red lion, his original post, and he also refused to steal his friend's spot. Clearly a glutton for power. There were many times where Voltron was necessary, sometimes life or death situations, but Keith still refused to take on the role of being the head of Voltron. Clearly, the guy was not cut out for a leadership position, showing that kind of loyalty!
So it only makes sense to feel betrayed that Keith dared to become the black Paladin. Especially since, as it turns out, Shiro was alive and well all that time. Or at least, that's what the Voltron creators seem to be trying to sell us right now. That part's a little more uncertain...
What is sure, however, is that Keith is a two-faced traitor. He took on a position it was absolutely vital someone hold, with the consent of the previous holder of said position, and dared to be somewhat clumsy at it his first try! That level of duplicity is just deplorable!
